You can learn a lot from boiling chicken about yourself! When you boil chicken there is white foaming gross stuff that comes to the surface which is actually a protein called albumin. Albumin is the major protein in blood. If you leave it in your chicken stock it will break down into small particles that will make your stock cloudy. You want your chicken stalk to not be gritty and cloudy but to be clear, smooth and flavorful. So you need to skim off the white oozy gross stuff!
Recently I messed up on something that was really important to me. It was a honest mistake but it was a major one that affected me greatly. The “chicken” in me, the fear that rose up was ugly! White oozy stuff ugly!
That afternoon I was trying to understand my reactions and felt so awful about the white ugly ooze revealed in me, I laid face down before Lord trying to figure it out, to evaluate why the fear had so affected me. Just when I think I’ve come along way, boom there is the “old habits”, the “old self”, the “chicken” in me began to ooze! Laying there before the Lord, I saw the old familiar struggle of being steal, allowing God to skim off the shame and to rinse off the regret. Nope not perfect!!! I had to allow the Holy Spirit to cleanse me and to clean of the residual “white ooze”. The Spirit began to remind me that every day I am being redeemed more and more and more!!! As the ooze is revealed, so is the opportunity to go deeper thus experiencing more healing and change.
God is causing the stock in me – the foundations in me to be free from debris so that my life would be filled with the flavor of the spices of freedom, forgiveness and healing. No more ooze!
“And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.” Philippians 1:6
