Making Choices to Live like a Christ Follower

I am increasingly alarmed by the number of Christians who are exhibiting behavior which feels lacking in the Fruit of the Spirit.  (Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control)

Even though our world often feels like it is not going the way we want it to, we still must choose to act like Jesus. We don’t get to spew hate and accusations at others—if we are trying to be Christlike anyway.

During the time of Jesus, the Romans were in power and they were pretty brutal in their dealings with the Jewish people. How did Jesus respond?  I am pretty sure he didn’t make T-shirts with hateful slogans.  Jesus didn’t put people down who were far from God.  If He had had Twitter, I am pretty sure He wouldn’t rip into the Romans or others in power. Jesus spent time with those far from God. He prayed for them. Jesus was a positive influence.

As the body of Christ, my hope is we can be a light to others and be life-giving. We can all listen.  We can all care. We can all choose to be nice and kind.

We can choose to exhibit the fruit of the spirit!!

Blessings,

Thora
