Have you watched the news lately? Reports of hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, threats of terrorism, violence and war can be heard daily. Our world seems out of control and filled with hate and discontent, often leaving one with feelings of helplessness.
As a Christian woman, should I be worried or afraid?
The answer is no.
I will not worry and I will not be afraid. I will focus on the fact that God is in control; His promises are true and He is always with me. I will be alert, watchful and prepared do the good works that the Lord has planned in advance for me to do at the best of my ability. Despite all the rhetoric, mixed messages and discouragement I see in the news and on social media, I am not helpless. I will pray constantly and I will place my hope in the Lord.
Although we cannot always control our circumstances or the things that are happening to us, we can control how we respond in the midst of our trials.
Isaiah 46:4 says, “even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you”.
It’s easy to get caught up in fearful emotions, especially if you’re constantly bombarded by negative messages and horrific news. You may even be in the midst of circumstances that are threatening to overcome you, where you have little or no control. Do not fear. Remember, God is in control. He has no equal and He’s got this.
So true. God is in control and not surprised by any of what is happening.
He’s definitely got this!
I can attest to the old age and grey hairs………more day by day, yet He Has been faithful.
(See 1 Samuel 12:24)
Thanks for the reminder, Blessings to you!
Amen to no fear – We know who goes before us! & you are absolutely correct in not being helpless too, there’s nothing more powerful than prayer and faith in our God, who has us!
How true this is, how relevant to the moment as well. The verse for me is Zeph. 3:17 “The Lord your God is in your midst, the Mighty One will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with signing.” The picture I have in my mind is that of my mighty warrior King in full battle dress singing a lullaby to a baby. All good. ~Melly
