Growing pains are uncomfortable, but everyone has to face them at some point. They’re a necessary part of life. Exercise can make our muscles sore and it can take time to build endurance and strength, but the end result is always better than where you started. Like growing pains, we face seasons throughout our lives that can seem painful.
Sometimes it feels like a season of growth is never going to end. We quickly question God asking what His purpose is when we can’t see it. But what if we just breathed in the simple reminder that He never changes? What if instead of searching endlessly for answers, we handed over control to Him and said, “I don’t know what Your plans are here, but I trust You and I know You are good.”
I was talking with a neighbor the other day about handing things over to God and releasing full control to Him. Her response was, “Every single time, He fixes it and yet I still don’t do it right away.”
We may have to wait longer than we are comfortable with in difficult seasons, but just like exercise the end results are always worth it. Letting go of control is never easy, especially when we can’t see the road ahead, but friends our God is so good! We can rest in knowing that regardless of how our situation appears, His goodness remains.
So let go, let God, and relax in those spiritual endorphins. He’s got this!
It’s so common as believers for us to face this and feel this way. We don’t know His timing and sometimes it just seems to take much longer than we would like. I love these words of encouragement, Alex!
There are so many verses in the Bible to focus our minds on the Lord in these seasons but these ones the Lord brought to mind for those “spiritual endorphins”. God is so good to provide us with what we need. 🙂
And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. (Hebrews 12:1c)
They will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. (Isaiah 40:31b)
