If These Walls Could Talk…

I remember when the walls of VCNP were being built and going up.

If we could hear what the walls were “saying,” I think it would be about being part of something of eternal significance—it would be about being part of a place where ordinary people are transformed into extraordinary followers of Christ.  I like to think our “walls” would be glad that they get to be a part of making Jesus smile. I think they continue to look forward to things like……….seeing how many lives will be given to Christ inside of them, how many people will be baptized, how many hungry people will be fed. I think they are blessed to be a place where people get to use their gifts for the Kingdom and also a place where we encourage people to get out from behind the walls and get into the community to share this message.  I pray for even more people in our community to see these walls and say things like,
“Oh, yeah, that’s the place that does outreaches in our community.  They feed the poor and do back to school outreaches, and minister to single moms.”  Someone inside our church might be saying,   “They helped me put my marriage back together.” Or “they taught me how to be a better parent, Christian, friend, etc.”

Your lives are what make a difference in what happens inside and outside of these walls—in what they “say.”

Now that I think of it, these walls do talk.

Blessings,

Thora
