Security

The older I get, the more I think the world is getting crazy.  I would like things to feel more secure. Where do we find security? Where do you find security?

Ever since 9/11, 2001, America has seemed to have lost a bit of its sense of security.  So many things seem unstable, including our politics.

In light of that, we must ask ourselves: from where does our security come?

Life happens and we all feel vulnerable. Our choice is to keep coming back to God’s word on this.

Isaiah 41:10 is a good place to start:

“So do not fear, for I am with you;
   do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
   I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Reminding myself of this truth helps me remember that my security lies ultimately in Him.

When I’m alert to what God is doing all around me, through me, and in me, I am reminded that He is my fortress (2 Samuel 22:2).

When I am alert to pray with a heart of gratitude, peace replaces fear.  When I have a heart of gratitude, contentment replaces insecurity.

May we find our security in the only One who is truly secure.

Blessings,

Thora

  1. Isaiah 54:10 “Though the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake still My loving kindness may not be removed and the covenant of My peace will not be shaken says the Lord who has compassion on you. “ this brings some peace and stability to my heart on this crazy, unstable world. So good to have a blog with encouragement for these times.

  2. Rest assured we must remember we have security with our Lord and Savior. Thank you for this beautiful reminder, Thora!
