My small group is studying hope; how to renew our strength when we feel weary and discouraged. We’re learning to focus on God, the source of our strength, so that when trouble comes in this life, we aren’t shaken or tempted to lose faith.
Our hope isn’t based on what we receive from God or what he will do for us. Our hope is based on who God is and what he has already done!
The bible tells us that nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:37-39 NLT). He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross and he is the Guardian of our souls (1 Peter 2:25-25).
When you are discouraged, and have grown tired and weary; when doubt enters your mind; trust in the Lord and let your hope be on something more – focus on the sovereignty of your heavenly father. Remember His great love for you, remember He is with you always.
Paul, a disciple of Jesus said, “I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 15:13)
May God bless you and keep you near and dear always!

Perfect timing for this Trish, thank you. Love you sister.
Our hope is based on who God is!! Love that line.
Trish, such a great devotional for me to read today. I need the reminder that God is my hope. If I base my hope on circumstances changing and they do not, I will be disappointed. But God never disappoints! Thanks again.
Love it, thanks.
He has said He would never leave us–what a promise. I like to think on Emmanuel–God with us!
This is lovely, thank you Trish!
Thank you for reminding us that GOD is our endless source of hope.
