Where have you been finding God?

Psalm 110:114 (MSG)
114 You’re my place of quiet retreat; I wait for your Word to renew me.

Psalm‬ ‭23‬:‭1-3‬ (MSG)
GOD, my shepherd! I don’t need a thing. You have bedded me down in lush meadows, you find me quiet pools to drink from. True to your word, you let me catch my breath and send me in the right direction.

Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭4-6‬ (MSG)
You were all called to travel on the same road and in the same direction, so stay together, both outwardly and inwardly. You have one Master, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who rules over all, works through all, and is present in all. Everything you are and think and do is permeated with Oneness.

A long time ago when I first started to pray I would spend a lot of time alone with God. I would read, sing, write anything to fill myself with this amazingly satisfying God.

I remember feeling conflicted about sharing my troubles with my friends and I found I had to consciously reach out to share because it was easier to just read and write and sing.

Once I did start
talking and sharing with my friends it got easier and easier. I had great friends (still do!) and I find that now it seems to be the opposite challenge.

How much do I take to my friends and how much do I sit and sing and write?

It’s an interesting question because sometimes I’ll find that I’ve
starved my relationship with God by not having that one on one time but on the
other hand that time with friends can bring that same peace and closeness to
God.

What an amazing God. He really is everywhere. Where have you been finding God?

  1. I’ve been having a hard time sitting down and being somewhat still so I can devote that time to prayer, but I feel a close connection with God when I read a chapter of my devotional book and the corresponding Bible chapter. It’s where I’m at right now. I think that we all go through cycles when it comes to how we seek and relate to the Lord.
