Ah, February. Valentine’s Day is just a few days away. This year, instead of just thinking about getting Valentines for my husband and kids, God is really pressing on my heart to spend time thinking about Him and His great love for me.
As a follower of Jesus, it seems silly to need that reminder. Every day should be Valentine’s Day in our hearts! Simply because God is Love and He teaches us what love is. “This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.” 1 John 3:16.
I find it interesting that 1 John 3:16 is so similar to John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Thank you, Lord, for your love. Help us to always remember and never forget the price you paid for us…your beloved.

I love the comparison! Hadn’t noticed that either. The one thing I like about celebrations like birthdays and Valentines is that they remind us how very blessed we are and provide a wonderful opportunity to show our love to those we care for.
