Who Will Carry My Burdens?

Psalms 68:19 says, “Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears our burden, The God who is our salvation.”

Don’t you love it when someone steps in and helps you with a problem?  Brian fixed my tires the other day and I was so glad I didn’t have to do it.  It was a burden lifted.

For me, however, many of the burdens I carry are emotional.  I have a lot of unhealthy loved ones and it seems to drag me down in my thought life.  My back feels the tension even though there is no physical weight.

However, God can carry my burdens if I keep choosing to hand them over to Him.   Sometimes I picture handing the situations and people I love over to  Christ in prayer.

I am reminded of Nehemiah 4:17 which spoke about the people rebuilding the Jerusalem wall which says, “…and those who carried burdens took their load with one hand doing the work and the other holding a weapon.”

To me this seems like we keep doing the work of the Kingdom, and we must fight spiritual battles at the same time.  (One hand working and the other hand praying) We fight by being ready—by praying and spending time with the Father who carries our burdens for us.

Choose today to keep up the good work and keep up the good fight and keep handing your burdens over to the One who can lift them.

Blessings,

Thora
