Everything Changes….

Maybe “Change” is Gonna do You Good…

Have you ever heard the phrase, “Enjoy the Change!”?  Some people try to avoid change.  Sometimes I try to avoid change.  I think I jogged the exact same route for about 8 years.  Why change direction when it worked?  To be honest, it was just easier not to change it.

Now that I’m halfway through my life, I’m thinking I better get used to change.  The only constant in our world (besides Jesus) seems to be change.  Our world, our country, our leaders, our economy, our church, our families and ourselves—all of them keep changing.  The very skin that covers my body is changing…it seems to droop and sag at the changes happening in me.  (It happens.)

Change is going to happen in every area of life.  We simply can’t stop it.

Brian, my husband, has said to our children Zoe and Luke, on occasion, “I think we’re just going to stop you from growing any older and keep you at this age forever.”  When they were younger, the kids used to look at him like, “Is this possible?”

Now that they are older, they know this simply cannot happen and they just look at him like, “Dad!  Really!”(and sometimes roll their eyes) They are getting older.  They ARE changing!

The truth is, they will keep on changing.

My prayer is that as we change, we are changing for the better.

May we draw closer to Christ and not further away from Him.  May we continue to be learners and not grow tired of the process.  May we face each new day with excitement of what God might do!

May we enjoy the changes in our families.  May we enjoy the things we can about growing older and wiser even though we have more wrinkles.  May we enjoy the wisdom we gain as we grow older.  May we learn to enjoy the seasons of life.  May we enjoy the things God teaches us…even when they are not easy.  May we learn to value what really is of value.

Maybe change is going to do us good!

Enjoy the change!

Blessings,

Thora
