I’ll Figure It Out

Do you ever find yourself facing a difficult situation or problem and you tell yourself or the people close to you, “I’ll figure it out.”

I said this recently while working through a decision I have to make that will affect me financially. I live alone. I pay my own bills. For much of life’s decisions, I’m on my own…figuring everything out.

And gosh do I ever fail at figuring things out on a regular basis!

It’s a stressful thing going it alone. We as humans are only so smart and the resources at our disposal are finite.

The good news is…we are not alone. God wants to help us. To offer us His wisdom. To be reassured that we are not alone and that we don’t have to “figure it out” alone.

One of my favorite passages in the Bible, Proverbs 3: 5-6, reminds us of this:

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” (NIV)

Before you try to go it alone, bow your head, close your eyes, and ask God for His wisdom and guidance. Tell Him, “I may not understand how this will work out, but I trust You to see me through this.”

There’s a wonderful peace in believing God is there, leading you through every tough decision or problem.

Instead of saying, “I’ll figure it out” next time, say instead, “I don’t have to figure it out…alone!”

Thank you, God, for that!
