Kenny and I just celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary. We got married when I was almost 23 & he was almost 22. We dated for 1 year- including 6 months of engagement.
To this day I think our reception was the best party I’ve ever been to. I danced ALL night long. If you wanted to talk to me I was on the dance floor. Then came our honeymoon, an amazing week of relaxation and well… you know.
Our first year of marriage was totally intense. Both Kenny and I came from broken homes; we had a lot of learning to do. It was trial by fire.
The next seven years we spent learning, growing, & maturing. We switched churches; moved closer to the city, traveled to different countries… we became adults!
After seven years of marriage we got pregnant and had our 1st of 3 children. What a transition that was! Then we came to visit our friends in Arizona and truly felt like God was telling us that it was time for a change.
So we moved, switched churches one more time, bought a house, bought another car, and had 2 more children.
If you had told me when I was lost in my teenage years or caught up in myself in my early 20’s what my life would look like now at 34 I probably would’ve laughed at you.
God is truly an amazing orchestrator. He can take what’s broken and damaged and make it new again.
God is good!
Imagine what it will look like in 12 more years!!
Congratulations! You make a beautiful couple and a beautiful family. Glory be to God for the work that he does in our lives.
