Where is my treasure?
Coming from a family of “keepers,” I kind of like to store up things. (food, clothes, dishes, etc.)
Imagine Jesus speaking these words to you in person:
(Matt. 6:19-21 says,) “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal, but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven where neither moth or rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
Ponder these words. What feelings do they raise within you? Could you share with Jesus your honest answers to these questions?
*What are your treasures? (people, things, position?)
*Who/What has your heart?
(I allow too many things to grip my heart.)
Here is a good prayer to pray:
Lord Jesus,
Remind me that you are
The Way,
The Truth,
And the Life,
And apart from You there is no life.
But with you, and with you alone
Is fullness of life,
Life everlasting.
(A life full of real treasure)
Blessings,
Thora
