Listen, Breath, Think.

As I sit at my teak dining table staring out the far front window where both my cats are furring up my couch as the suns rays beat down on their shaven fur, I listen to my 2 kids play in the pool with their daddy, the faint sound of Pandora in the other room playing my Boombox track and the sound of my fingers typing on my MacBook Pro- I take a breath and try to listen to my heart.

Lately it seems to be few and far between where the moment comes that I can sit down, try to hear my thoughts and catch up on my inner workings.  Part of the reason I do these blogs is because somehow they keep me accountable to myself- just another thing that I plan in my day to try to slow myself down.

Toys are smattered all over every inch of my house.  Kids books strewn, clean clothes folded in piles on the floor, dishes in the sink, clean dishes in the dishwasher from the night before, laundry re-washing in the washing machine because I forgot to switch it to the drier last night before I went to bed- and yes, my bed is not made.

But oh how I long for these moments where I can just sit down and breath, and listen, and think.

Listen, Breath, Think.

Up! Kids are outta the pool- off I go!

  1. I miss that season of my life when my kids were little and life was crazy. But, I love this season where the kids are grown, the grand kids come over and visit and I get to love on them and then they go home with their Mommy. And, almost every morning I can sit and spend a couple hours or more with my Jesus. Love every season our precious Lord has you in because they are all amazing. Thanks for sharing, it made me smile.
