I get excited about the strangest things.
Color-coding magazines may sound like a nightmare to you, but to me it sounds like an opportunity to add some organized color to an otherwise ordinary room. Perhaps having a hierarchy of sized glasses in your cabinet gives you heart palpitations; to me it sounds like beauty and harmony.
Now any of you that may have been thinking of being my friend are now high-tailin it to the nearest door. Don’t be a hater. I know you’ve got some quirky secret you’ve been keeping from the rest of us.
But seriously, we all have passions; things that get us excited, things that remind us of who we are, of what we love, of the beauty in life, things that cause us to feel worth and value, or peace and a sense of order: God-given talent. We all have echoes of God’s voice written on our hearts. I believe I was made a certain way with intentionality and purpose:
Psalm139:13-16
13 You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body
and knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!
Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.
15 You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion,
as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.
16 You saw me before I was born.
Every day of my life was recorded in your book.
Every moment was laid out
before a single day had passed.
Recently I accepted a project and suddenly I feel alive again, all is right in the world. Frustration sets in when the things I love lay dormant in my heart for too long. Lets face it, I like to organize and when I don’t, I feel icky.
When I am using the talents I have been blessed with I remember that I have a greater purpose. I was not made to exist in a vacuum — I exist as part of a larger whole.
When I tap into the ticking of my heart, I tap into the way I was created; the way I was designed. It’s like changing the oil on a car, each car uses a certain kind of oil and when it uses the right oil the car runs smoother, or exercise. When we exercise our bodies run cleaner, we are less stressed and so it is with our talents! When we use our talents we remember who we are.
You are fearfully and wonderfully made. Do you know what you are made of?
Using our God-given talents to serve Him and others is such an AWESOME feeling!!!
I love it when we can minister out of how God has gifted us. It keeps us going for the times we minister out of need. 🙂
You can come and organize my house anytime! fell free to color code and go crazy! Great post about the uniqueness that is God made in all of us!
I enjoyed reading your post!
