How Would It Be/Cómo Sería (Bilingual)

When I read the phrase, “the disciple whom Jesus loved” ONLY used in the Gospel of John, it fascinates me deeply!

John calls himself “the disciple whom Jesus loved.” He felt loved and that love made him confident enough to get close to Jesús to the point to laying on His chest.

No other disciple expressed the love of Jesus like John did. More than 55 times the word “love” is written in the Gospel of John (it varies on the version).

I believe Jesus treated all His disciples the same. I believe there was no favoritism, and yet, John felt and believed that he was loved. John focused on Jesus’ love for him.

I think we must come to that point like John, to focus and believe that God loves us. And truly believe that you are the beloved daughter of the Father.

How different your life would be if, like John, you focus daily on Jesus’ love for you? How would your life be if you could get close to Him and lie on His chest trusting that He will never reject you, that His love for you does not depend on what you did or did not do, but rather that He loves you unconditionally? How would it be for each of us?

¡Cuando leo la frase, “el discípulo a quien Jesús amaba” la cual se usa ÚNICAMENTE en el Evangelio de Juan, me fascina grandemente!

Juan se llama a sí mismo “el discípulo a quien Jesús amaba”. Se sentía amado y ese amor le dio la confianza suficiente para acercarse a Jesús hasta el punto de recostarse en Su pecho.

Ningún otro discípulo expresó el amor de Jesús como lo hizo Juan. Más de 55 veces la palabra “amor” está escrita en el Evangelio de Juan (varía según la versión).

Creo que Jesús trató a todos sus discípulos por igual. Creo que no tenía favoritismo y, sin embargo, Juan sintió y creyó que era amado. Juan se centró en el amor que Jesús tenía por él.

Creo que debemos llegar a ese entendimiento, como lo hizo Juan, de enfocarnos y creer que Dios nos ama. Y de creer verdaderamente que eres la hija amada del Padre.

¿Cuán diferente sería tu vida si, como Juan, te enfocaras diariamente en el amor que Jesús tiene por ti? ¿Cómo sería tu vida si pudieras acercarte a Él y recostarte sobre Su pecho confiando en que Él nunca te rechazará, de que Su amor por ti no depende de lo que hiciste o no hiciste, sino en que Él te ama incondicionalmente? ¿Cómo sería esto para cada una de nosotras?
