This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. –Psalm 118:24
I made a remark to a friend about how quickly time was passing by. Then it hit me: I’m old. Well, actually, maybe I’m not that old.
However, I have experienced what I’ve heard so many other people say, “The older you get, the faster time flies.” This is a crazy season!
Whatever age we are, whether time seems to drag or fly by, it’s important to remember that life is fleeting. While we all probably desire a long healthy life, not all of us are granted the experience. All we have for sure is today; this moment. There are no guarantees for long life. So here’s an important reminder: live each day to its fullest — to the glory of God. Each day is a gift that needs to be treasured.
If you are like me, you’ve wasted days with worry, thinking about the future, thinking about the past, thinking about the “what if’s” and “what could have beens”.
I believe God wants us to be present today. He has created this day that we may know, experience, and love Him; that we may love and serve others. That is how we will make the most of our day.
I’ve heard someone say, “Ninety percent of life is just showing up.
My kids are a sophomore and a Junior in high school. It seems like yesterday they were only 4 and 5. Whether you are young or old, time is fleeting.
Today, show up for life! Embrace today. Enjoy the ones you love. Be Present. Pay attention. Enjoy!
Blessings,
Thora
Such an important reminder – especially this time of year.
