Throughout my day I have snippets of interactions with God. Moments when I feel peace. Moments when I notice something beautiful that catches my eye. Moments when I feel most thankful for the life I’m living and the beauty I’m seeing. I feel most alive in those moments. I feel closest to God in those moments. I feel reminded of my great Creator.
Psalms 19:1-4 NLT The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship.
Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make him known. They speak without a sound or word; their voice is never heard. Yet their message has gone throughout the earth, and their words to all the world. God has made a home in the heavens for the sun.
My soul aches for those moments. The moments when I can share in the praise that the heavens proclaim when I look at them.
Yet when I’m in them I’m always feeling a pull to come back to the vortex of busyness rather than staying in the moment with God and lingering a little longer in his presence- taking that deep breath, taking one more, maybe even another- to be present to those moments when I feel most alive and remembering that my God is there in them sharing them with me, enjoying them with me, feeling them with me.
