As it says in Ephesians 3:20, God really is, “…able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think…”
God continually goes beyond my expectations. I saw this once again as my husband Brian and I visited one of our Vineyard small groups. (Well…it was actually a very big “small” group– I think it had almost 30 people in it.)
After we got in the car to leave, I said, “You know, during worship, I was thinking that this group is bigger than our whole church was for the first couple of years.” I am continually amazed by God’s goodness and the wonderful stories of the people. Brian said he too was thinking of how the group was bigger than our church at the beginning. God continues to outdo our dreams as we have followed Him. He blesses us, encourages us, and reminds us of changed lives. A few people shared how someone else in the group had encouraged them in their Christian walk and how life changing it had been. I met one person who was the result of the faithfulness of one of our leaders who stepped out to encourage and invite them some 15 years ago.
That is something we can all do for each other. Encourage. Exhort. Invite. Pray. You never know what God will do, or who He will touch down the line of your faithfulness. This I do know: God will go beyond our expectations as we remain faithful.
