The Women’s Ministry at Vineyard North Phoenix is led by many women, serving in a variety of positions. On this blog, you’ll hear from women who serve in leadership positions. We hope to add some guest bloggers as time goes on.
Thora and Brian Anderson planted Vineyard Church North Phoenix in 1985. Thora is a pastor at the Vineyard and assists Brian with his responsibilities leading the Southwest Region of the Vineyard USA. They have ministered in numerous countries. Thora loves raising up leaders and seeing people use the gifts and abilities God has given them. You might not know Thora taught high school English for 8 years before working at the church. She is the proud mother of two amazing and adorable children.
Ana Stine has been a member of Vineyard Church of North Phoenix for the past 16 years, where she’s served in Children’s, Compassion and Women’s Ministries. A native of Guatemala, Ana works as a Spanish interpreter. Her passion is teaching God’s Word to others. She is married to Ron and has three wonderful children: Gracie, Ronnie, and Nick.
Kathy Kurlin and her husband Bob have attended the Vineyard since 2004. Kathy and her husband host a marriage small group and volunteer with the Vineyard Church catering and served with the Vineyard Dinner Club. Kathy recently published her first Christian novel. Melissa Paul has been a part of the Vineyard since August 2006. She has served in a vareity of areas including children’s ministry, outreach events and women’s ministry. Her professional background includes media relations and health education. Melissa is a devoted wife and mom, teaches CPR classes part-time and loves to read.
Jodi Decker has been a member of VCNP for several years. She is married, a mom to three grown children, and a college teacher. Jodi loves to read, travel, garden, go to the movies, and eat out at new “foodie” places around the valley. Jodi has previously written for education, health, homeschooling, and Christian publications.
Erica Petrowski was born and raised in a suburb outside of New York City and first began attending a Vineyard with her single mother in 1989. After a tumultuous adolescence and young adulthood she re-dedicated her life in 2000. She moved to Arizona in 2011 after 9 years of living in NYC and has been married for over 10 years with 3 children. She has a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from FIT in NYC as well as an associate’s degree in Fine Arts. Erica coordinate’s the Back to School Giveaway, has helped with the prayer experience for one of the women’s conferences and has hosted a Mom’s group in her home for the past three years. She enjoys organizing, poetry, colors, presents, music, fine foods, good friends, fine wine, design and the arts.
Jessica Cox has been attending Vineyard North Phoenix for the past 12 years. She is active in a women’s small group and helps out in Vineyard Kids. She is wife to Andy and mom to Brooke. She teaches English 3: American Literature and Creative Writing at Millennium High School in Goodyear, AZ. She has coached both volleyball and track and field during her 8 years there. Right now, she is focusing on serving God as a small group leader for Vineyard. She hopes to go on a mission trip sooner rather than later and maybe visit her Compassion sponsored child in Sri Lanka some day. Most of all she wants to share the love of Christ with everyone she meets.
Trish Johnson has been a member of Vineyard Church North Phoenix since 2005. Since then, Trish has served in Children’s Ministry, on the Ministry Team, and is currently leading a Women’s Small Group. She works in Information Technology, but her real passion is encouraging women to be their best. Trish is an aspiring writer and has a heart to serve in counseling ministries. In her spare time she enjoys books, music, writing, travel, the occasional “geek out” and tacos.
Mary Montoya is a native Arizonan, born the youngest of eight children, in Flagstaff, but has called Peoria home for the past 28 years. Mary is involved in Women’s Ministry at VCNP, including Women’s Evening, Single Mom Spa Day, counseling, and leads a women’s care small group. Mary is mom to Ericka and Aaron and Gammie to sweet babies Brielle and Julian who are children of Aaron (son) and Danielle. In her spare time Mary enjoys spending time with her family and friends; sharing her love for Christ to build up others; she is a foodie; likes to cook; loves to travel and wishes she could always be at the beach; and indulges in sports and movie watching.
Natalie Brown has attended the Vineyard since 2012. She and her husband Tyler are leaders at the Northwest Peoria campus. Natalie serves in the Hospitality ministries, outreach events, and is also a small group leader. Natalie is passionate about teaching and learning. She is a proud 5th grade teacher. Natalie enjoys reading, traveling, cooking, music, and spending time with her friends, family, and puppy.
DaNetta Fernandez has been at the Vineyard for 27 years. She has a passion for missions and teaching the Word of God. She has 3 children and 2 grandchildren.
