Ephesians 2:10 Says, “10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
Have you noticed how different and unique people are? One of the things I love about our church is the diversity. We have so many unique and interesting people.
God prepared each of us to be…us. Not anybody else. Not our sister, mother, friend or the woman we see on TV. Each of us has unique talents, spiritual gifts, personality, family, background, work experience and life experience.
Max DuPree, a great leader, had this to say, “God has given people a great diversity of gifts. Understanding the diversity of our gifts enables us to begin taking the crucial step of trusting each other. The simple act of recognizing diversity in the corporate life helps us to appreciate and connect the great variety of gifts that people bring.”
DuPree talked about being like a Jazz Band. You could liken our church to a Jazz band. The effect of the performance depends on so many things—the environment, the volunteers playing in the band, and the need for everybody to perform as individuals and as a group.
We need everybody to use their individual gifts and come together to use all of our gifts as a Group. I love it when I see our church doing that!
Only God could think this up.
We are a wonderful mosaic.
