The Good News

If you are a news junkie like me, you might think that the country is burning to the ground right now. But the reality is we see what the media wants us to see.

And what we are seeing these days is nothing short of depressing. The fear. The fighting. The violence. The hopelessness.

If the news is all you consume, you are probably and understandably not feeling so good these days.

The news is not your friend.

But there is Good News! And it’s available to us everyday!

When we feel anxiety, depression, loneliness, open the Bible and be reminded that we, as Christ-followers, are not alone.

I’ve been turning to the YouVersion app a lot lately. When you go to Search, the app asks you How are you feeling? It’s like we have a therapist available anytime we need.

When we are consumed with bad news in our own lives, turning to the Word will provide us with the other side of the story.

The side where we are reminded that Jesus walks with us through every trial and in the worst of days. And that this world is not the end of the story:

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 (NIV)

“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no death, or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” Revelation 21:4 (NIV)

Make sure you are getting the whole story. And share the Good News whenever you can to those who are only seeing the bad.

Have a blessed month filled with Good News.
