The God Who Stays

Have you heard the song “The God Who Stays,” by Matthew West?
Here is the chorus:
“You’re the God who stays
You’re the God who stays
You’re the one who runs in my direction
When the whole world walks away…
You’re the God who stands
With wide open arms
And You tell me nothing I have ever done can separate my heart
From the God who stays”
As Thanksgiving approaches, I find myself meditating on this fact. I am so grateful that we serve a loving God who will never leave us or forsake us. We live in a fallen world where people come and go, loneliness abounds and life can change drastically in a heartbeat. I find so much comfort (whether in good times or bad) that my most important relationship is with the God who stays.
Blessings to you,
Melissa
