Toward the end of his life, Irish playwright George Bernard Shaw was asked what person in history he would most like to have been. He responded by saying he would most like to have been the George Bernard Shaw he might have become, but never did.
Have you ever felt the same way? Like you are not really living YOUR life? Your BEST life?
2 Cor. 9:8 says, “And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed.”
God is able. Do we believe that? Of course, we do. God can make…what? All grace abound to you…so that in all things at all times, you will abound in every good work.having all sufficiency in everything you may have an abundance for every good deed.”
I like this definition I have heard of grace over the years from James Ryle: “Grace is the empowering presence of God enabling you to be who He created you to be and to do what He has called you to do.”
I love that. I know I want God’s presence to do what God has called me to do. Join me this Wednesday night as I teach on “Grace” at Women’s Evening.
