God’s Timing > Our Timing

I’ve been thinking a lot about this lately… TIMING. God’s timing. Why doesn’t it align with ours? Especially when we feel like we have been oh, so patient. Why do we pray for things and not get them? And even sometimes, people around us get those things.

Timing can be so hard. As you can see, it’s something I struggle with, too. But there is some biblical truth that I always have to go back to when my flesh starts acting up and trying to take over. All those things I want and desire, God actually gave those desires to me. Those things you’ve been praying for and really wanting to see in your life, GOD allowed them there. Now, do we always get what we want? Unfortunately, no. But sometimes, it’s actually not unfortunate. It’s what God can do with our hearts when we seek Him over something, even if we never get it. The prayers aren’t wasted and God always does something with it. We grow closer to Him, we pray more and then sometimes He answers in a totally different way that ends up being such a blessing.

Whatever it is, HE knows best. He knows our hearts because He created us and HE knows the desires that are in there. And He will answer in some way, we just have to trust that it’s what’s best for us, because it always is. The enemy will try so hard to tell us in those times that God doesn’t care, that he doesn’t hear us or that he’s holding out on us. What a LIE. The creator of the universe knows us so intimately and loves us for all we are and even aren’t are on some days. If you’re like me and you sometimes need a reminder that His timing is perfect and He hears every prayer, here are two simple verses to meditate on…

“Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” –Psalm 37:4

“The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.”
Lamentations 3:25-26

When you can’t seem to get past the now and consider what God might do in the future, look back on the ways He has come through in other areas of your life. He will do it again. In His own, perfect way. Just like He always does.

May we grow more patient and trusting together,
Nikki

  1. Nikki, I really appreciate your message. But what blesses me most, having had met you as a child, is getting to see your heart and the lovely woman of God you’ve become.
