Reflect and Release

I have to stop and reflect. If I don’t I miss things- sometimes important things.

I’ve started reading “The Power of a Praying Parent Book of Prayers” by Stormie Omartian. Day by day I’ve been reading prayer by prayer.

Today in the prayer that I read she wrote- “I rely on You for everything and this day I trust my child to You and release him into Your hands.”

The funny thing is as soon as I prayed it I felt a burden lifted from me. I didn’t realize that I was carrying such a heavy load until I felt a little bit lighter.

I think often I do that. I’ll carry burdens without knowing that I’m carrying them until I stop and reflect. It’s in these moments that I am so thankful that I know God the way that I do and that He cares so much about me to remind me to hand over my heaviness.

What are you carrying?
