The Place I Belong…

Home with God is the Place I Belong…

Genesis 31:13 (NLT)

13I am the God who appeared to you at Bethel, the place where you anointed the pillar of stone and made your vow to me. Now get ready and leave this country and return to the land of your birth.’”

Twenty years before this – – when Jacob was fleeing his home in the Promised Land – – and heading for Laban’s house – – God met him and spoke to him at a place called, “Bethel.”

It was at that place – – 20 years before – – that God made certain promises to Jacob.  One of those promises was basically, “I will be with you, and I will bring you back to your home.”

“I’m going to bring you back to the Promised Land.”

Now – – 20 years later – – after Jacob doesn’t hear God’s voice for 20 years – -after he originally made some bad choices– God speaks again and He says to Jacob, “I am the God of Bethel.”

Only God and Jacob knew about that divine conversation that took place 20 years earlier.

God was calling Jacob back.  (back home, back to God, back to his foundation, back into a great relationship with Him)

The truth is, God always remembers.

We may have times where we have walked away and it seems we just don’t remember God or His goodness.

However, even though we may have made bad choices or sinned to the point that we were far from God, He is always ready to bring us back HOME to Him.  (where we belong)

Blessings,

Thora
