What if I had not been saved yet?

Where Would You Be if God Had Not Come Into Your Life?

Have you ever thought much about that?  I have.  I would probably be some superficial person who was trying to find happiness in things and people.

I would try to please people.(I actually do that at times now.)  Every now and then, I would buy a new purse or shoes and try to feel better.  (Man!  What is the deal with how expensive purses are!?)  If God had not come into my life, I imagine I would feel some depression from lack of purpose.

Speaking of purpose, I saw a movie the other day where the world was going to soon end and the people in it all seemed to live a pretty meaningless existence. Some of them spent their last week of life partying because they had nothing else of meaning. (What a waste!)

I’m so glad Jesus came into my life.  Life without Him really would look hopeless and meaningless. (What would there be to look forward to?) Some people really do simply live for another drink. (or whatever slightly exciting thing is around the next corner)

What do I give to a God who has given me His best?

I try to give Him my all:  My days, my nights, my family, my thoughts, my dreams, my hopes.  He deserves all of it.

If God had not come into your life, where would you be?

It is good to ponder.

Blessings,

Thora

  1. So true! I also wonder about that from time to time. I’m so glad that’s not the case! Praise Jesus!

  2. I have thought about this too. Looking in the past has helped and encouraged me so much. I look back thinking, “Well, while I’m still not perfect, at least I’m not still THERE.” God is so good to help us along the road of life. 🙂
