Who Am I

When I was offered the opportunity to write for this blog, I was initially elated! But soon that excitement turned to doubt…and eventually terror!

I love to write but I thought, “Who am I to think I have something to contribute here?”

The enemy often convinces me that I’m not worthy to share my journey as a Christ-follower because it isn’t “picture perfect.” On my journey, there have been victories but, boy, there have been some embarrassing lows too.

But no one’s journey as a Christ-follower is perfect and everyone has something to offer.

Have you ever wanted to tell a friend about Jesus but didn’t because you were afraid they might not want to be your friend anymore?

In your small group, do you want to offer your insight into what a bible passage means to you, but you’re afraid you’ll be judged so you keep quiet?

Have you been asked to serve in a ministry that speaks to your heart but thought you just didn’t have what it takes to do it justice?

Every follower of Jesus has something to offer. Through our words and actions, God can move in the hearts of non-believers in mighty ways! If we hesitate, we miss our calling laid out in 1 Peter 4:10:

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.

Do you write or sing? Speak well in front of a crowd? Give the best hugs?  All of those are gifts from God that can be used to serve and you shouldn’t be scared to do so. Trust Jesus to give you the tools you need to serve him well and never doubt that you are worthy to do so.

Blessings,

Jennifer
