Fix Your Thoughts on Jesus

During my devotional time, I came across a scripture that I know the Lord wanted me to see.

My thoughts had been so anxious lately, and I was constantly feeling overwhelmed. Between work, my family and the many other demands on my time, it was growing harder and harder for me to keep my mind focused. Even during prayer, I found my mind wandering off to worry about stuff that was completely out of my control.

I was comforted when the Holy Spirit showed me Romans 8:6 (NLT), “So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.”

I got of my head for a minute and I just sat quietly in silence and I thought of Jesus. I thought of who Jesus is and all that He has done. God the Son, the savior of all, who died on the cross for us; for me. My problems are nothing compared to the sin of the world that Jesus bore on His shoulders.

I thought about all the wonderful things Jesus did and all that He is doing. All the lives changed because of Him. The freedom we have in Jesus. The freedom I have, to quit striving and to led by the spirit.

Once I got my mind focused on the work of the Holy Spirit, the anxious thoughts I had were gone and I experienced peace being in the presence of Jesus.

Now wasn’t that a pretty cool ending to a very hectic and overwhelming day. I had to share the moment. Thanks for reading.

Love, peace and taco grease!
