Are You Growing Young?

We are all growing older each day, but what if it was possible to grow younger? If we could really find the secret to staying young, we would be both rich and famous in the world’s eyes. The Bible teaches us that outwardly we are wasting away… however, it is also possible to be inwardly renewed. 2 Corinthinthians 4:16. So in a way… we can grow young.    Did you know that Sin actually ages us?    In the story of Adam and Eve, there is a sense prior to the Fall, they would live forever. After the Fall, they lived a few hundred years. Each generation after theirs seemed to live shorter lives. Why did they? Sin. These generations just like our present generations lived in a sinful or sin-filled world and sadly there are consequences. Sin weighs heavily on us and does affect our bodies.  The world we live in suffers from sin and our bodies can only handle it for so long.  All things eventually perish. But the exciting news is that through Jesus, we have hope to defeat our enemy.. the enemy who tempts us and the sin that so easily trips us up. Our enemy leaves only when a power greater than himself commands him to do so.  You and I do not have such power on our own, but we do know  and can be connected to the one who is all powerful.  When we call upon the name of Jesus, we are assessing the power of God.

The best way to be renewed is to repent and turn from our sins. When our relationship with God is restored we see life through his eyes.  Our heart and minds center on real truths that God is love and God is just. The enemy wants all of us to be estranged from God and to doubt his love for us.  But with just the cry of “Jesus”, the demons flee. Jesus can truly calm all of our inner storms and make us free just as a child who is free to dance and sing in the presence of her parents who love her.  I pray that you will renew your inward self with the love and hope of Christ and that you will continue to grow young.

Be Blessed,
