Uniqueness Defines Us

A couple of Sunday’s ago during worship I was reminded that we are all loved the same by God. It was during that fabulous song “Good, good Father”.

Believe it or not that use to actually upset me! I thought if God loved me the same as everyone else than I’m not special. But now I see that even though God loves us all the same amount He loves us each the way we need to be loved.

As a part of the same body each of us has a ‘special’ function. Whether that function is to be up at the pulpit, to pray for our neighbor or to host a small group, each function has a special purpose AND God sees our function! He sees how we do the things we do.

He made us each individually- we each have our own finger print for goodness sake! We each hold value based on His reflection. Each of our values may look a little different but He loves us all the same.

Unique and creative beings- we were created to reflect God uniquely and He loves each one of us just the way we need to be loved, yet He loves us each just as much as another. Isn’t that so just, so God.

He’s a good good Father and we are loved by Him and that’s who we are. His love for us in all our uniqueness defines us. We are defined by His love, yet we are all loved the same.

  1. What an amazing Father we all have!
So much better than any earthly Father could even try to be…the Father each of us need.
