Sickness In My House

So I could be wrong (which is rare 😉 but I think maybe my family has been suffering from some spiritual warfare. You can call me crazy- my church friends wouldn’t, hopefully- but the amount of sickness going on around me makes me start to think.

To be honest- I’m not typically a sensationalist, I can be a little on the alarmist side but I do like to think that more than half the time I run somewhere down the middle.

I’m definitely not the type of person who would blame a cold on the devil and I don’t like it when people won’t take responsibility for their own actions by blaming everything else.

I just find it a little fishy that my family gets hit with sickness after sickness the same month that my husband and I start work in a couple of different areas in church- fishy.

Seriously, as soon as Greta is born Kenny gets flu, then Martin gets flu, then Lucy gets flu- we’re good for a week and we get hit again and this time everyone gets flu except Greta and in addition Martin gets an ear infection.  THEN! Not more than 3 days after we recover from flu Martin gets a stomach virus.  I mean seriously- it seems a little obvious to me- like the elephant in the room.

Like I said, I’m really not one who typically blames the spiritual realm for everything but in this case I’m thinking there may be something behind what’s been going on around here.

It doesn’t change what we’ve done to treat the kids’ sicknesses or our own- cause I do believe God also uses doctors and medicine as a form of healing but now we also have been praying for healing and telling anything that might be lurking to take a hike.  However we will be beefing up the prayer and worship time in the house for a while- especially since it looks as though Martin’s last bug left the house rather quickly after some hefty prayer.

This morning Martin woke up bright and cheerful and everyone appears to be feeling well, that is definitely something I am thankful for.  I don’t know what tomorrow will bring so I’ll enjoy this moment and this day of healthfulness- while I have it!

  1. I noticed over the years, that the enemy seems to up the attack on us and our family with large events and happenings we are involved in which affect the Kingdom.

  2. It’s good to be aware of things that might be happening in the spiritual realm. And, knowing you, it’s no sensationalism. So glad your beautiful family is getting better.
