It’s all a matter of perspective…

I want to share something revolutionary with you today.

It’s something that has changed my perspective on life.  It’s more than a mantra, or feelings of good will.  It’s better than a 12-step program or a get rich quick scheme. If you think about it, I mean really think about it, this will change your life.

Are you ready?

Here we go…

No matter how bad things are in your life, if you know Jesus, you are still going to heaven.

Amazing, right?  I know!  The simplicity of this statement is overwhelming.  Let’s take a moment so that you can just absorb that thought, take it in and let it simmer for awhile.

I mean, just think about it.  Even on your worst day you are still a child of God destined to live with Him for eternity!

The Bible says in I Thessalonians 5:16-18, “Be cheerful no matter what; pray all the time; thank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live.”

Wait a minute, you’re probably thinking right about now, but how can I always be cheerful?  You want me to thank God no matter what happens?  Are you crazy?  Have you lost whatever marbles you had?

Now, before you get out your pickets and form a protest I do realize that life can deal us some pretty hard blows.  Situations and circumstances can pop up in our lives that at the time are hard to come to terms with.  Things like sickness, loss of a loved one, loss of a job, just to name a few, and perhaps you are in the midst of something right now that has shaken you to your roots and it’s all you can do to hang on.

But let me encourage you.  Life is transitional, it was never meant to stay in one place. And trust me, things will get better.  And I know that while you’re in the storm it’s hard to see the shore, but if you can just hang on to that one thought it will change your life.

God loves you.  God wants the best for you.  It doesn’t matter what life throws at you.   I know it can be hard.  I’ve been there. But even on my worst day I can thank God because I know that one day I will step into eternity and He will gather me close in His arms and hold me, and all the bad stuff will simple melt away in the presence of the One who saved me.

That’s why I can say, no matter how bad things are in your life, if you know Jesus, you are still going to heaven.   And that is all the reason you need to be thankful.

Blessings,  Kathy W.
