I Love, I Love….

On October 27th, I gave birth to my 5th child, a daughter we have named Anabelle. She is precious and sweet and I have certainly fallen in love.

One of the most important things to Anabelle thus far is the presence of her family. She is not happy without knowing one of us there, and most often feeling our touch. This started in the hospital almost immediately. She was never content to be in the bassinet the hospital provided. She would be content close to us – not separated. As a mother of 5, this is not always easy, but we have found some balance in it. She cannot always be in my arms, but I do my best to keep her close, out of love. When those moments come when I can tell that she just needs to be held, a song comes to mind…

In the glory of Your presence
I find rest for my soul
In the depths of Your love
I find peace
Makes me whole

I love, I love, I love Your presence
I love, I love, I love Your presence
I love, I love, I love You Jesus
I love, I love, I love Your presence

As I sit and rock my baby, I seek Him. I seek my King because there is nothing like feeling His touch. I don’t want to be without Him close.

This is, in part, why Christ was born. John 3:16 says

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”  (NIRV)

I like the amplified version…For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.

Trusts in, clings to, relies on…Him. Him who was born in a manger on a silent, holy night. Who was brought into this sinful, broken world for the sole purpose of saving it. Who loves us so much that he lived and died so we wouldn’t be lost.

As you celebrate the birth of the single most important baby ever born, may I suggest you take a moment to become like a child yourself, seek His presence, and be rocked in the arms of your King.

Merry Christmas!

Kathy
